Mathematical Model of WIE to Cortisol with Comparison between Obese Subjects with and Without BED

چکیده
In this paper, a generalized version of the inverted exponential distribution called the weighted inverted exponential distribution is introduced. Several properties of the weighted inverted exponential distribution are studied and derived. In application part the relationship between induced psychological stress, HPA axis and eating behaviour in Binge Eating Disorder (BED) has been discussed. The Trier Social Stress Test (TSST) was applied in obese participants with (n = 8) and without BED (n=8), and normal weight (NW) controls (n=8). At baseline desire to binge was significantly higher among the BED group. While the TSST induced an increase in Cortisol levels, a blunted Cortisol response was observed in the BED group.

Cortisol response and desire to binge following psychological stress: comparison between obese subjects with and without binge eating disorder.
While stress and negative affect are known to precede "emotional eating", this relationship is not fully understood. The objective of this study was to explore the relationship between induced psychological stress, hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis activity, and eating behavior in binge eating disorder (BED). The Trier Social Stress Test (TSST) was applied in obese participants with (n=...
متن کاملComparison of Serum Levels of Adiponectin and Cortisol between Overweight/Obese and Normal Weight Men
Introduction: Obesity, results in a number of serious complications, such as type 2 diabetes, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and metabolic syndrome. The levels of blood of adiponectin and cortisol have been associated with obesity. This study aimed to investigate the relationship of adiponectin and cortisol levels with obesity and biochemical parameters. Methods: This case-control study was...
متن کاملSalivary Cortisol and Binge Eating Disorder in Obese Women After Surgery for Morbid Obesity
BACKGROUND Binge eating episodes characterized by loss of control are hypothesized to be accompanied by changes in hypothalamic pituitary adrenal (HPA) axis functioning. Cortisol is an end product of this neuroendocrine stress system. PURPOSE The aim of this study was to examine the cortisol levels and the awakening cortisol response (ACR) in obese persons showing binge eating after surgery f...

Background: To compare thyroid volume , thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) , Free T4 and prevalence of thyroid nodules between obese and non-obese subjects .Also, association between BMI and insulin resistance status with various parameters of thyroid gland was evaluated. Methods: Fifty –two patients with obesity and 38 normal body mass index (BMI ) volunteers, aged 20-50 years , were enr...
متن کاملBody Composition in Healthy Obese/Overweight and Normal Weight Subjects Compared to Patients with Metabolic Syndrome
Background: According to previous studies, patient with metabolic syndrome (MetS) are different in terms of body composition from healthy subjects. The purpose of the present study was to determine the body composition of healthy obese/overweight patients and compared them with those having MetS. Methods: A case-control study was conducted on both men and women aged 20 to 55 years, who were sel...
